Self-funding residents pay for their own care. As a general rule, an individual with cash or assets worth more than £23,250.00 is required to pay for his / her own care.

The NHS will pay the care home fees of people with certain long term nursing health needs. This is referred to as continuing healthcare funding.

Attendance allowance is a weekly rate paid to any individual with a disability that means you require assistance with your care needs. There are two rates of attendance allowance. The lower rate is paid at £73.90 per week whilst the higher rate is paid at £110.40 per week.”

The NHS pays a contribution of £254.06 per week for the nursing care element of nursing fees. Funded nursing care is only applicable to service users with needs assessed as nursing
